I’m aware of my nature

Sentenced to death before I was born

Of Flesh and Steel….Of Bones and Gravity

Turned from mire out of the ashes like a Phoenix into a sky split in two realms

Of Natural ways I lived

Consumed into the life of thieves and liars

Standing with feet buried I struggled for oxygen to fill my lungs as the water rose.

Desperate for a last gasp of air…

You see its air that I need

Air which gives life of the creatures crawling on the seas and earth

Air which breathed life into a lifeless body as I drowned under the dark seas of a black world. Of an absent future.  A bleak destiny outside of a life in You. Hopeless. Void of Existence. Destined to walk this world a shadow of my former self.  The voices of those who speak deceit and lies destroy the fabric of my being.  Mistrust and rivalry are my companions. In an instance a life is erased.

Out of this void. Out of this mire.

Wings as gold fire. A Fire indescribable in its passion begin to stretch across this landscape of barren earth. If for a moment a glimpse of shimmering light glistens. It speaks to the darkness in ways unspoken. The light of my new heart emboldens me to a deeper understanding and purpose.

For I am Reborn and Free. Free not to be caged again..No longer a slave to the world of men. For me to see the pain of loss and the newness of rebirth, I know not who I was but who I have become and can be.

A Simple Truth.  I am alive when once dead. I can see but was blind.  I can hear when once was deaf. And to me the greatest gift will always be. A son who died for me.
